totalitarianism - A political system, generally Fascist, that recognizes no limits on it's power and authority. Generally a Dictatorship that controls the media, the economy and takes over private enterprise. Propaganda and collectivism replace human and individual rights. Government sponsored terrorism puts an end to freedom. Probably the most successful type of Totalitarianism, was the Marxism-Leninism of the Soviet Union, which defeated the Fascists of Germany.

KCAA offers diverse political talk programming. We keep you informed of all sides of an issue.
Brush up on some political definitions.
Politics is at the heart of government. Our forefathers had a lot to say about government.
Democrats - often called liberals, or the political left, advocate federal regulation of Banking and big business, social and economic equality, tax-supported public schools, public works programs and welfare programs targeted to the poor. Democrats support the separation of church and state. Most Democrats oppose war, and favor diplomacy over military action. Democrats favor fair trade policies over globalism, Democrats view climate change as fact. They support affirmative action and government intervention by law, but oppose laws againt abortion and laws restricting gay rights. Some conservative democrats support laws that would force balance budgets. Democrats favor higher wages and a strong manufacturing base but also support a strong unionized labor force. Their champions are Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, William Jennings Bryan, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Bill Clinton and film maker Michael Moore.
Republicans - often called "Conservatives" are represented by the Republican party, or the political "Right". Republicans generally view themselves as Christian but usually favor laws that reward the wealthy more than the poor. They promote economic liberty through free global trade, while opposing American unions that demand higher wages. Republicans favor low-cost labor and lower taxes. They encourage personal responsibility and limited Government but promote laws against abortion and gay rights. Most republicans favor the Patriot Act. Republicans favor the privatization of many government services. They support a strong national defense and like to be known as the law and order party. Most republicans question climate change. Their champions are Alexander Hamilton, Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and talk show host, Rush Limbaugh.
