ADAM KLUGMAN-- Adam has been a film director, producer and radio talk show host. He chats with Barry about the sorry state of the media today and nearly vacant concept of "empathy" in current political discourse. Adam has written a new screenplay for a television pilot about how a liberal talk show is convinced to become a "star" on a rightwing radio network. He worked with Barry on a show called "Everything You Wanted to Know About the Separation of Church and State...But Were Afraid To Ask". And, yes, he is the son of iconic actor Jack Klugman and comedian Brett Somers (and there will be stories). See https://www.madashellinamerica.com/
DARRELL W. WEST--Darrell's latest book is an exploration of "hyperconflict in the Trump era": Divided Politics, Divided Nation. It is a forceful analysis of how extreme polarization within communities and even families poses a threat to democracy itself.
He and Barry explore the role of religion, identity politics, immigration, and guns in the creation of this "hyperconflict". Darrell West is the vice president and director of Governance Studies at the prestigious Brookings Institution in Washington. Darrell had a most unusual introduction to Donald Trump while a professor at Brown University.
