Roy Zimmerman, singer-songwriter and satirist joins Barry to look at some of the foibles of religious zealots and the politicians who "worship" them.   Roy and his co-writing spouse Melanie Harby started writing songs for childrens' programming but then moved into more adult comedy.  Roy has 10 solo albums and is a wildly popular performer all over the United States.  His view on satire: "Satire empowers people.  To laugh is to fight back. To hope is to fight back."  Roy and Barry discuss several songs from his latest album:  "Religious Freedom" and "Joel Osteen", as well as his classic take on so-called "creation science".
You probably use a browser like Chrome or Explorer to access the internet, but some utilize a browser named Tor that also gets you access to the so-called "Dark Web".  Horror movies and TV detective shows routinely portray this as the domicile of hitmen, pedophiles and drug dealers.  That view is grossly misleading according to Alison Macrina, Community Team Leader at The Tor Project.  She explains the use of Tor for good purposes where the anonymity it provides is essential.  Alison and Barry explore how victims of domestic abuse and human rights advocates use Tor to evade stalkers and avoid state sanctioned censorship around the globe.
