After serving as Americans United’s executive director for 25 years, Barry Lynn retired at end of 2017. Lynn oversaw key legal and legislative victories for Americans United. During his time as executive director, AU worked to block a dangerous constitutional amendment in Congress that would have removed church-state separation from the First Amendment.
Upon his retirement, a Gala event was held in his honor in Washingon D.C. The event was made extra spicy by it's emcee, comedian Lewis Black.
Over 400 people attended including several members of Congress. Watch the entire event below and listen to the shorter podcast version HERE and listen to the full length podcast HERE.
